Question: Can a coin... let's say a Dime or a Quarter dropped from a certain height let's say from a tall building crash through a skull and kill a person?

Having spent some time working on active 100kW shortwave broadcast stations I noticed that you omitted several other things that may effect demodulation.
The first is that an arc is a great AM demodulator. Not only does it demodulate the signal, you can hear the demodulated signal. The problem is that teeth are way to small to be efficient at getting enough voltage to cause an arc. Eyeglasses however may be more plausible and might couple sound in such a way as could be perceived as coming from the teeth. Another possibility to increase the signal strength may involve some sort of inadvertant tuned circuit.

I think that the mistake the guys made was opting to use a relatively high-volume stream of water to overcome the problem they had keeping the stream from breaking up. Higher volume = higher resistance.
I think that the key to making a weapon which transfers electricity through streams of water is minimizing the volume of water in a solid stream. I know they made many attempts to do this, but I think they jumped the gun in resorting to high volume. Perhaps a rifled/bored nozzle could keep the stream from breaking apart? I think if I were trying this for the first time, I would have used a barrel with an elongated, thin (like a slit as opposed to a round hole), cork-screwing hole through it. As the water leaves the barrel, I believe its shape and inertia would cause it to collect into a thin shaft-like stream of water before breaking up, that process providing a much greater range for a low-volume stream. The water may need to be pressurized to maximize this effect. By the way, the the MythBusters insist on calling the weapon a "stun gun" as opposed to a "taser" for copyright or trademark purposes? Clearly the weapon more like a taser (an acronym for "Thomas A. Swift's Electric Rifle," a weapon which shoots projectiles), than a stun gun (a hand-held device that does not use projectiles).

Hey guys, I'm from Indonesia! I've seen your show from season 3-5 and I love it!
Well I have an idea which came from the "Archimedes Death ray", the idea is not about the death ray itself but how you did the episode, you asked fans to build their version of the weapon... so why not other ancient "mythological" weapon, my idea is the Qing Dynasty flying guilotine. I don't have any idea how to make it but i really want to see maybe you guys or other fans make it. Well maybe other poeple have any other ancient "mythological" weapons they want to see? Ozz |
